Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a Sustainability Data & Energy Analyst to support the company’s energy usage, utility spend, and sustainability performance. The role involves data modelling, forecasting, and reporting initiatives to drive cost reduction and carbon reduction strategies.

The ideal candidate combines strong data analytics with knowledge of energy systems, emissions accounting, and the ability to communicate with colleagues from facilities to senior leaders. Travel up to 5% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • 0–2 years related experience preferred.
  • Strong data analytics skills and ability to communicate findings.
  • Experience with energy, sustainability, or facilities data is a plus.
  • Knowledge of GMP & EHS requirements and audits is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze utility and resource data across facilities and operations.
  • Develop dashboards and analytics tools to monitor energy usage and savings opportunities.
  • Conduct variance analysis, cost modeling, and root cause investigations of energy performance.
  • Model Scopes 1, 2, 3 and water/waste goals with dynamic conditions and risks.
  • Forecast energy usage and prepare data for sustainability reporting.
  • Support budgeting with energy cost models and scenario analysis.
  • Collaborate with operations and facilities to improve energy performance.
  • Prepare audit-ready datasets and data dictionaries for assurance reviews.

Meet the team:

An exciting role to support the continuous growth of the company and for future expansion. This position will play a key role in establishing the Sustainability Data & Energy Analyst plays a critical role in analyzing, forecasting, and optimizing the company’s energy usage, utility spend, and sustainability performance. This position leads complex data modelling, energy performance analysis, and reporting initiatives that support cost reduction, operational efficiency, carbon reduction strategies, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate combines strong technical analytics skills with deep knowledge of energy systems, utility data, emissions accounting and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of colleagues, from facilities technicians to senior leaders.

Where you come in:

  • You collect, clean, and analyze utility and resource consumption data across facilities, assets, and operations. Resources to include, at a minimum, fuels, gases, chemicals, water, waste and energy.
  • You develop dashboards, performance indicators, and analytics tools to monitor energy and resource consumption, trends, anomalies, and savings opportunities.
  • You conduct variance analysis, cost modeling, and root cause investigations of energy performance deviations.
  • You build and support modelling for Scopes 1, 2, 3, water and waste goals, configure models to ensure dynamic conditions are incorporated, assumptions documented, and risks to performance are evident and monitored.
  • You build and maintain energy forecasting models for electricity, fuel, thermal energy, and peak demand, incorporating traditional and clean energy sources.
  • You support financial planning with energy budget models, scenario analysis, and rate/tariff evaluations.
  • You manage greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculation across Scopes 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories.
  • You prepare energy, emissions, and resource consumption data for corporate sustainability reporting (e.g., CDP, GRI, TCFD, ISSB, CSRD).
  • You analyze the energy and emissions impacts of operational initiatives, equipment upgrades, and renewable energy projects.
  • You develop standardized tools to direct site-level environmental accounting and reporting; whether SaaS, homegrown, or hybrid tools
  • You prepare audit ready datasets, documentation, evidence, and data dictionaries for energy and GHG emissions assurance reviews.
  • You serve as a key liaison between external auditors/assurance providers and internal teams.
  • You assist in annual internal reviews of data processes, methodologies, and system controls to reduce audit findings and risks.
  • You are a partner with operations, facilities, engineering, and procurement to improve energy performance and optimize systems.
  • You analyze performance of HVAC, lighting, manufacturing equipment, motors/drives, and building automation systems at a global level. Support site teams as appropriate.
  • You evaluate clean energy and onsite generation opportunities (solar, storage, microgrids, fuel switching, etc.). Partner with site facility teams to explore and evaluate opportunities in-country/region.
  • You develop and maintain data pipelines, automation scripts, and analytics models using SQL, Python, BI tools.
  • You understand, support, and implement data governance improvements, quality control processes, and documentation standards. With Data Governance manager, conduct periodic reviews of governance model effectiveness and efficiency.
  • You collaborated with the Data Automation Team to design and deploy digital tools that streamline operational reporting, automate manual data collection, and improve real-time visibility of manufacturing performance.
  • You can assume to perform other tasks as assigned.

What makes you successful:

  • You are familiar with facilities systems operation and maintenance (Electrical, HVAC, Water, Gases)
  • You have broad engineering skills and experience in utility, automation, instrumentation, project management, operations, and maintenance of facilities systems.
  • You have understanding and experience of GMP & EHS requirements and external/internal audits
  • You have knowledge on Lean Sigma tools (5S /Pareto /5 why /DMAIC / RCA /Fish bone analysis) will be added advantage
  • You have fnowledge on ISO stds for medical devices and environmental acts
  • You have proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Excel, PowerBI/Tableau).
  • You have experience with implementation of Application Program Interface from internal and external sources.
  • You have experience with GHG accounting (Scopes 1,2 and 3), energy benchmarking, and sustainability reporting frameworks.
  • You have excellent communication skills with experience presenting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders..
