Job summary

Capcon Asia is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a growing team in Malaysia. You will structure the team to meet business goals, lead architecture decisions, and ensure scalable, reliable SaaS solutions. The role requires motivating engineers, hiring top talent, and guiding the team through complex multi-year projects.

Hybrid work with 3 days in the Central KL office, close collaboration with EU and product teams. Strong leadership and cloud experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and grow a team of 6-8 engineers, QA & DevOps.
• Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment.
• Define architecture for new projects and ensure availability, resilience, and scalability.
• Identify technical risks during the SDLC and suggest mitigations.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, planning and executing iterations and sprints.
• Promote Clean Code, code metrics, and TDD/BDD practices.

Role

Structure the team to meet business goals and time frames.

Responsibilities

Build, mentor, and grow a team of 6-8 engineers, QA & DevOps

Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment

Define architecture for new projects, ensure availability, resilience and scalability of all solutions

Identify technical risk throughout Systems development life cycle and suggest mitigation options.

Work in an Agile/Scrum; plan and execute within iterations and sprints

Ensuring code quality and advocating for Clean Code, Code metrics, Test Driven / Behavior- driven development

Team Culture

Collaboration with EU team & cross-functional agile teams

Work with Product Management to understand customers needs & desired application capabilities.

You will need to manage upwards, qualify timelines & challenge the urgency of projects
