Job summary

Ultimate Manufacturing Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team. You will oversee project planning, execution, and delivery while driving process improvements and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Collaborate with product, QA, and operations to align goals and optimize performance. The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering with 5+ years in engineering and 1–3 years in a managerial capacity; strong leadership

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) required.
5+ years of engineering experience with 1–3 years in a managerial or lead role.
Strong leadership, team building, and people management skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in engineering software/tools relevant to the field (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
Good project management skills, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Knowledge of quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Experience in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers (design, development, or production-based).
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects.
Drive process improvements, engineering standards, and best practices.
Review and approve technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering change requests.
Collaborate with product, QA, manufacturing, and operations teams to align engineering goals.
Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Monitor performance metrics, resource allocation, and productivity of the engineering team.
Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, yield, downtime, and cost reduction.
Manage budgets, tools, and timelines for projects.
Provide technical guidance and resolve engineering challenges.
Recruit, train, and evaluate engineering staff performance.
