Job summary

MerchantSpring is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function and own the technical vision for a growing API-first data platform. You will guide 11 engineers across ETL, API and AI/MCP squads, reporting to the CEO, and drive architecture, quality and delivery.

You will work hands-on when needed, while shaping culture, standards and cost-aware engineering practices as the team scales toward organizational leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading 8–15 engineers in a scale-up.
• Strong architecture and data-platform design skills.
• Experience with API-first data platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own technical vision and architectural roadmap for the data platform.
• Lead and mentor multiple squads across ETL, API and AI/MCP.
• Collaborate with Sales and Client Success to steer the roadmap.
