Aerospace Partners Engineering Sdn. Bhd. (APE) seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering Department in supporting aerospace manufacturing operations.

Aerospace Partners Engineering Sdn. Bhd. (APE) is seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering Department in supporting aerospace manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for leading manufacturing engineering activities, new product introduction (NPI), process development, tooling design, continuous improvement, and technical support to production while ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with extensive experience in precision machining (CNC Machining) and aerospace manufacturing who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and developing high-performing engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Engineering Department to achieve company objectives.
Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) from customer drawing review through production launch.
Develop, review and approve manufacturing processes, work instructions, process flow charts and manufacturing documentation.
Plan and implement machining strategies for CNC milling, CNC turning, sheet metal fabrication, welding and assembly processes.
Design and improve production tooling, fixtures, jigs and gauges to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
Provide technical support to Production, Quality and Operations to resolve manufacturing issues and improve process capability.
Lead root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.).
Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and continuous improvement projects to improve productivity, quality and cost.
Evaluate machine capacity, production methods and manufacturing technology for future business growth.
Review engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) and ensure timely implementation.
Work closely with customers on technical discussions, feasibility studies, DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and project execution.
Ensure compliance with AS9100 Quality Management System and customer‑specific aerospace requirements.
Lead engineering resource planning, project scheduling and departmental KPI achievement.
Coach, mentor and develop engineers to strengthen technical competency.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in precision manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, assembly and manufacturing processes.
Experience with fixture, tooling and jig design for high‑precision manufacturing.
Good understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, tolerance stack‑up and manufacturing process capability.
Hands‑on experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD or equivalent).
Knowledge of CAM software and CNC programming is an advantage.
Familiar with AS9100, FAI (AS9102), PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP and Risk Management methodologies.
Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical, project management and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Fluent in English. Mandarin is an added advantage to communicate with customers and suppliers in China.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing aerospace customer projects and technical reviews.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Value Stream Mapping.
Familiarity with special processes including anodizing, heat treatment, NDT and other outsourced aerospace processes is an advantage.
Experience working with international aerospace customers or Tier-1 suppliers is highly desirable.
