Pembinaan Kekal Mewah is seeking an Engineering Assistant based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This full-time role supports civil and structural engineering projects, assisting with planning, design and execution while gaining hands-on experience alongside senior engineers.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Engineering, understands engineering principles, and is proficient with AutoCAD or similar design software. Willingness to undertake site visits is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and review of technical drawings, specifications and construction documents.
• Support site inspections and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Collect and analyse engineering data relevant to ongoing projects.
• Assist in the coordination between design teams, contractors and stakeholders on technical matters.
• Help with the preparation of technical reports and project documentation.
• Support the estimation of material quantities and costs for construction projects.
• Assist in quality assurance and quality control processes on site.
• Liaise with project teams to ensure smooth communication and timely resolution of technical issues.

We are seeking an Engineering Assistant to be based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to support our civil and structural engineering projects and contribute to the delivery of high-quality construction solutions. As an Engineering Assistant, you will work alongside experienced engineers and project teams, gaining valuable hands-on experience whilst supporting the planning, design and execution of our engineering initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and review of technical drawings, specifications and construction documents
• Support site inspections and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles and construction practices
• Proficiency with engineering software and tools, including AutoCAD or similar design software
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with technical drawings and specifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Malay and English; proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from senior engineers
• Willingness to undertake site visits and fieldwork as required
• Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards and regulations is preferred
