Job summary

B. Braun Medical Industries Penang is seeking an Engineer - Industrial to plan equipment layouts, analyze processes, and drive cost efficiency across production facilities.

You will apply Lean concepts, conduct time studies, and support continuous improvement projects with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, with at least three years in industrial engineering, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in the relevant field.
• Experience and knowledge in Industrial Engineering, including takt time, cycle time, lead time, work instructions, and FMEA.
• Exposure to Project Management and involvement in process improvement projects.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with effective time management.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts and processes.
• Possess a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Preferably has a proven track record in executing continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan equipment layouts in plant office and production facilities and establish standards to improve industrial engineering techniques.
• Analyse industrial engineering techniques and develop recommendations to minimize costs, time, and improve yields and productivity.
• Conduct studies to determine efficient sequences of operations and workflow; propose methods for optimal utilization of facilities and personnel.
• Provide engineering services and reports on production methods, layout, and utilization.
• Understand client needs or specifications to develop new techniques and estimate time and cost for steps and projects.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Your key responsibilities

• Under general supervision, plan for equipment layouts in plant office, and production facilities and establish standards to improve industrial engineering techniques.
• Analyse existing industrial engineering techniques and develop recommendations for changes to working methods that will minimize costs, and time taken; increase yields and productivity; and improve the quality and consistency of final products.
• Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and recommends methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Imply independent judgment and acquired experience, for execute moderately complex and non-routine assignments.
• Provide engineering service and advice to industrial engineering activities; prepare reports regarding reviews of production methods, equipment layout and equipment and material utilization.
• Understand specific client needs or technical specifications, parts drawings, and other engineering data to develop new techniques and estimate time requirements for each step and total cost of the project.
• The job function listed is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
