Job summary

Exyte Malaysia seeks a competent engineer to support Instrumentation & Control (I&C) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems for high-tech facilities, semiconductor plants, life science projects, and data centers. You will develop engineering designs, coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces, and ensure project delivery in line with client requirements, codes, standards, budget, and schedule.

Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience are required, with 3–5 years for Engineer level and more for Senior

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation/Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in I&C and/or ELV engineering for design, build, EPC/EPCM projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review designs for I&C and ELV systems (design-and-build projects).
• Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, system architecture drawings, network layouts, schematics, and design reports.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, architectural and civil/structural disciplines throughout project execution.
• Review vendor submissions, technical proposals, and shop drawings; support procurement through technical bid evaluations.

Responsibility

Support the design, engineering, coordination, and execution of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems for high-tech facilities, semiconductor manufacturing plants, pharmaceutical facilities, life sciences projects, advanced manufacturing facilities, and data centers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing engineering designs, coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces, supporting construction activities, and ensuring project delivery in accordance with client requirements, applicable codes, standards, budget, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Design & Development

• Develop and review designs for Instrumentation & Control (I&C) and ELV systems for design-and-build projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, system architecture drawings, network layouts, schematics, and design reports.
• Design and coordinate the following systems:
• Building Management System (BMS)
• SCADA Systems
• PLC-based Control Systems
• Fire Alarm System (FAS)
• Public Address & Voice Alarm (PAVA)
• CCTV Surveillance Systems
• Access Control Systems (ACS)
• Intrusion Detection Systems
• Structured Cabling Systems
• Data & Telecommunications Networks
• Master Clock Systems
• Audio Visual Systems
• Prepare equipment datasheets, control philosophies, I/O schedules, instrument lists, and cable schedules.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, local authority regulations, and international engineering standards.
  

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and civil/structural disciplines throughout project execution.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP workshops, client meetings, and multidisciplinary coordination sessions.
• Review vendor submissions, technical proposals, and shop drawings.
• Support procurement activities through technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments.

Construction & Site Support

• Provide engineering support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Review RFIs, method statements, installation drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved designs and quality requirements.
• Resolve technical issues arising during construction and commissioning activities.
• Support system integration, loop checking, FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.

Education And Experience

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience

Engineer Level

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in I&C and/or ELV engineering.
• Experience in industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or data center projects preferred.

Senior Engineer Level

• Minimum 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in Design & Build, EPC, or EPCM projects.
• Experience in high-tech facilities, semiconductor fabs, life sciences, pharmaceutical plants, cleanrooms, and mission-critical facilities is highly preferred.
