Job summary

Oxydata Software Sdn Bhd in Selangor, Malaysia, seeks an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to develop, certify, and optimize mobile devices for advanced network testing solutions.

You will work on C/C++ for embedded systems, Android apps, and LTE/5G NR support, collaborating with teams in Sweden, Malaysia, and India to deliver robust device measurement capabilities.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of embedded software engineering experience.
• Strong C/C++ for embedded systems and USB.
• Android development with Java/Kotlin.
• LTE/5G NR and 3GPP signalling knowledge.
• Experience with rooted devices and Magisk.
• Ability to collaborate with distributed teams across Sweden, Malaysia, and India.
• Clear technical documentation skills for device qualification reports and test procedures.
• Customer-facing L3 support readiness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software components for mobile device integration and network testing applications.
• Support the certification and validation of new mobile devices for compatibility with our solutions.
• Implement and optimise features for various mobile chipsets and device configurations.
• Contribute to Android service development and system-level modifications, including rooting and Magisk modules.
• Analyse network signalling, protocol behaviour, and RF performance across device families.
• Investigate and resolve device-level issues impacting measurement accuracy and network performance.
• Prepare device qualification reports and test procedures.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams across Sweden, Malaysia, and India.
• Provide customer-facing support for escalations related to device measurements and network performance.

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to develop, certify, and optimise mobile devices for advanced network testing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software components for mobile device integration and network testing applications.
• Support the certification and validation of new mobile devices for compatibility with our solutions.
• Implement and optimise features for various mobile chipsets, including device-specific configurations and diagnostics.
• Contribute to Android service development and system-level modifications, including rooting and custom module integration.
• Analyse network signalling, protocol behaviour, and RF performance across supported device families.
• Investigate and resolve device-level issues impacting measurement accuracy and network performance.
• Prepare clear technical documentation, including device qualification reports and test procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with distributed engineering teams across Sweden, Malaysia, and India.
• Provide customer-facing support for escalations related to device measurements and network performance.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 4–7 years of experience in embedded software engineering or a related field.
• Strong C/C++ development skills in embedded systems and USB communication.
• Experience in Android development using Java and Kotlin.
• Knowledge of the Android operating system, including rooting, Magisk, bootloaders, and system access.
• Strong understanding of LTE and 5G NR technologies.
• Experience with 3GPP signalling protocols.
• Ability to collaborate with distributed engineering teams across Sweden, Malaysia, and India.
• Clear technical documentation skills, including preparation of device qualification reports and test procedures.
• Customer-facing communication skills for L3 support escalations.
• Self-driven, with the ability to investigate and resolve device issues independently.

Nice-to-have:

• Expertise in Qualcomm QXDM, Samsung Exynos, and MediaTek mobile chipsets.
• Experience with TEMS, Nemo, or similar drive-test tools.
• Experience in network testing, optimisation, or benchmarking.
• Experience in Android system engineering, including TEMSification, custom ROMs, and Magisk modules.
• Experience with Git and GitHub Actions CI/CD for embedded or Android projects.
• Python scripting experience for test automation or tooling in embedded/mobile environments.
