Job summary

Oxydata Software in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Android Systems Engineer to support network testing solutions through advanced software development, device certification, and mobile device optimisation.

You will develop Android modules in Java and Kotlin, work on C/C++ for embedded systems, collaborate with teams across Sweden, Malaysia, and India, and contribute to LTE and 5G NR technology.

Qualifications

• Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience with Android development (Java/Kotlin).
• C/C++ development including embedded systems and USB communication.
• Strong knowledge of LTE and 5G NR technologies.
• Experience with 3GPP signalling protocols and Android rooting/Magisk.
• Ability to work with distributed teams in Sweden, Malaysia, and India.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android modules using Java and Kotlin.

• Prepare clear technical documentation, including device qualification reports and test procedures.
• Support customer escalations, providing technical expertise for L3 support cases.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in LTE, 5G NR, and 3GPP signalling protocols.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Three to five years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience in Android development using Java and Kotlin.
• C and C++ development skills, including embedded systems and USB communication.
• Strong understanding of LTE and 5G NR technologies.
• Knowledge of Android operating systems, including rooting, Magisk, bootloaders, and system access.
• Experience with 3GPP signalling protocols.
• Ability to collaborate with distributed engineering teams across Sweden, Malaysia, and India.
• Clear technical documentation skills, including the preparation of device qualification reports and test procedures.
• Customer-facing communication skills for L3 support escalations.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to investigate and resolve device issues independently.

Nice-to-have:

• Expertise in Qualcomm QXDM, Samsung Exynos, and MediaTek chipsets.
• Experience with TEMS, Nemo, or similar drive-test tools.
• Experience in network testing, optimisation, or benchmarking.
• Experience in Android system engineering, including TEMSification, custom ROMs, and Magisk modules.

Education:

• Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
