Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications.
• More than 5 years experience in testing and verification.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiar with broadband testing (3G/4G/5G) and standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review service requests and generate regulatory test plans.
• Estimate effort and cost according to customer requirements.

Department Overview

Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance Penang is a department managing the regulatory certifications and type approval submissions started in 2006. It is consists of 5 laboratories (EME, EMC, RF, Safety & Energy and 3PPP) which are conducting tastings (LMR, BT, WiFi 2.4/5GHz, GNSS, 3G/4G, Safety and Energy test) and approving report for regional type approval applications, eg: FCC, ISED, ANZ, RED and others APAC countries. Besides, PSRC also supporting Carrier Certification application like GCF and PTCRB. The team consists for difference function and roles like, Certification Manager, Subject Matter Expertise, Regulatory engineers, Regulatory Admins and Project Coordinators. All the labs are comply to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and accredited by A2LA and SAMM, and supporting regulatory submission from MSI's business globally. PSRC has expanded the capabilities to broadband 5G, Wifi 6e and coordinate cybersecurity certification in 2025.

Job Description

Responsible to review of service requests, generate regulatory test plan and estimate effort and cost according to customer requirement. Responsible to coach test personnel to resolve issues found in testing activities, equipment inventory and calibration activities. Responsible to review data, approve test report and provide technical advise on standard interpretation. Work collaboratively with project coordinators, program managers and engineering when there is doubt on the test requirement. Ensure laboratory test system completed quarterly system performance check and calibration appropriately. Assist the laboratory Quality Manager / appropriate Technical Manager in the handling of quality issues / technical issues as necessary.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor of Electrical / Electronics Engineering/Telecommunication or equivalent.
• more than 5 years experience in testing and verification.
• Well versed in analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiar with broadband (3G, 4G and 5G) testing and standards will be plus.
