Job summary

VTech Communications (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd seeks an NPI/Product Engineering professional to support development, evaluation, and rollout of new products. You will liaise with customers on drawings, specs, and vendor processes, plan NPI introductions, and optimize manufacturing to reduce costs while ensuring quality.

Fresh graduates are welcome; familiarity with SAP/BOM/ECN is advantageous. Based in Muar, Johor, you will contribute across cross-functional teams during the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant experience in NPI/production is a plus.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic circuit analysis and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Basic understanding of NPI, product development and manufacturing process optimization.
• Good written and spoken English; Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Experience or familiarity with SAP, BOM management and ECN control is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support product development and engineering activities across disciplines.
• Communicate with customers on drawings, specifications, requirements, and vendor processes.
• Plan and evaluate NPI processes and optimize manufacturing to cut costs.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute NPI projects from concept to mass production.
• Implement NPI quality controls and coordinate corrective actions for readiness.
• Maintain BOM/ECN records in SAP and ensure data accuracy.
• Resolve technical issues with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Willing to work in Muar, Johor; perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Apply knowledge of Electrical Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, Product Design, or related technical disciplines to support product development and engineering activities.

Communicate with customers regarding engineering drawings, product specifications, technical requirements, and vendor manufacturing processes. Prepare and submit sample parts, technical data, and relevant documentation to customers for evaluation and final approval.

Plan and evaluate new product introduction (NPI) processes, assess process conditions, review process documentation, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency and reduce costs.

Plan, coordinate, and execute NPI projects throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept evaluation and development to pilot production and mass production.

Implement NPI quality control measures, identify potential technical and manufacturing risks, and coordinate corrective actions to ensure product quality and production readiness.

Coordinate technical discussions and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal departments in English. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is an added advantage.

Maintain and update the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) records in SAP to ensure data accuracy and proper engineering change control.

Coordinate with relevant departments and vendors to resolve technical issues, ensure compliance with customer specifications, and support the smooth transition of new products into mass production.

Perform other engineering-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior.

Willing to work in Muar, Johor.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

A. Qualification Required

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

B. Experience Required

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Relevant experience in NPI, product engineering, manufacturing processes, or electronics manufacturing is an added advantage.

C. Skills Required

Knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit analysis.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and process documentation.

Basic understanding of NPI processes, product development, and manufacturing process optimization.

Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Good command of written and spoken English.

Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is an added advantage.

Basic knowledge of SAP, BOM management, and ECN control is an advantage.
