Job summary

CLLS Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an Electrical Engineer to troubleshoot and repair diesel generator sets (Gensets), automatic transfer switches, and generator controls at customer sites in Malaysia. You will perform routine preventive maintenance, oil and filter changes, inspections, and testing.

The role requires a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, 2–5 years of field experience with diesel engines (20–3000 kVA), and a Chargeman A4 certificate.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years in electrical installation, troubleshooting, testing and commissioning of diesel generators.
• Experience with Volvo, Perkins, Doosan, MTU or similar engines (20–3000kVA).
• Chargeman A4 Certificate of Competency.
• English language proficiency required.
• Strong problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs alternating current electrical systems on gensets, ATS, generator controls and engine-related faults.
• Performs preventative maintenance, oil and filter changes, and inspections on generator equipment.
• Diagnoses issues during Genset testing and performs voltage adjustments per customer requirements.
• Re-wires, adjusts, and installs control panels, breakers, and voltage regulators.
• Conducts testing and commissioning at customer sites and supports safe operation.
• Identifies and mitigates potential safety hazards around gensets.
• Interprets electrical drawings and schematics for wiring and troubleshooting.

Job description

Troubleshoots and repairs alternating current electrical systems on generators, automatic transfer switches, generator controls and engine related mechanical failures; and performs routine preventative maintenance, oil and filter changes and inspections on all generator.

Diagnose and repair any issues found during Genset testing. Perform voltage adjustment on generators based on customer requirements. Re-wire, adjust and install control panels and breakers.

Electrical Engineer

• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings, inter-connection wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics and able to do troubleshooting of Generator Set.
• Excellent communication skills based on customer retention.
• Perform generator functional test and load bank tests on diesel generators.
• Diagnose and repair any issues found during Genset testing.
• Perform voltage changes on generators based on customer requirements.
• Re-wire, adjust and install control panels and voltage regulators.
• Adjust speed controls and various settings in programming.
• Installs, services and repairs lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets and Generator set wiring.
• Perform testing and commissioning of Genset at site.
• Perform preventive maintenance of power generator equipment including but not limited to oil and filter changes and part replacement.
• Perform servicing of generator, change oil and filters.
• Identified and alleviated potential safety hazards around the genset.

Work Experience:

• Candidates must possess a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent or higher.
• Minimum 2-5 years of work experience in the electrical installation, trouble shooting, testing and commissioning of diesel generator set.
• Experience with Volvo, Perkins, Doosan, MTU and other diesel engines ranging from 20-3000kVA;
• Chargeman A4 Certificate of Competency.
• Knowledge of the English language is compulsory.
• Candidates must possess a strong ability in problem solving.
