Job summary

Formee Holdings in Malaysia is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our project team working on large-scale design and build Data Centre projects. You will contribute across design, construction, testing and commissioning, reading and producing electrical drawings, and coordinating with consultants, vendors and clients.

A degree in electrical engineering and a BEM Graduate Engineer registration are required, with 2–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Registered as a Graduate Engineer with BEM.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities for Design & Build Data Centre projects.
• Review electrical designs and submissions for compliance with specs and standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Resolve technical issues through design and construction.
• Participate in design workshops and constructability reviews.
• Support project execution through design, procurement, and handover.
• Monitor installation progress and quality against drawings.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues on site.
• Review RFIs and technical queries and respond promptly.
• Identify project risks and support mitigation strategies.
• Develop and review Testing & Commissioning plans and procedures.
• Coordinate FAT, SAT, IST and iFAT activities as applicable.
• Witness functional performance testing and commissioning.
• Ensure commissioning docs and as-built records are completed for handover.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and project teams.
• Prepare technical submissions and project documentation.

Formee Holdings is hiring an Electrical Engineer to join our growing project team.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering electrical engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle — from detailed design and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning and final handover.

You’ll work closely with consultants, contractors, vendors, clients and internal project teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

• Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities for Design & Build Data Centre projects.
• Review electrical designs and technical submissions for compliance with project specifications, client requirements, regulations and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, design partners, vendors and subcontractors.
• Resolve technical issues throughout design and construction.
• Participate in design workshops, value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Support project execution from detailed design through construction and handover.
• Monitor electrical installation progress and quality against approved drawings.
• Conduct site inspections and support construction teams in resolving technical issues.
• Review and respond to RFIs and technical queries.
• Identify project risks and support technical mitigation strategies.
• Develop and review Testing & Commissioning (T&C) plans and procedures.
• Coordinate and support FAT, SAT, IST and iFAT activities, where applicable.
• Witness functional performance testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure commissioning documentation and as-built records are completed for handover.

Stakeholder & Technical Coordination

• Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, utility providers and project teams.
• Participate in technical meetings and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Support procurement through technical specification reviews and vendor evaluation.
• Prepare technical submissions, reports, inspection records, project correspondence and other documentation.

We're looking for an engineer who is technically strong, hands-on and ready to grow with challenging infrastructure projects.

You should have:

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Registered as a Graduate Engineer with BEM.

2–3 years of relevant experience preferred.

Strong understanding of electrical systems, design principles, wiring and electrical safety.

Ability to read, interpret and produce electrical drawings and technical documentation.

Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.

Good communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.

Willingness to travel regularly to project sites in Negeri Sembilan and Pahang.

CIDB Green Card is an advantage for construction-site work.
