Job summary

Hireon in Malaysia (Sarawak, Bintulu) seeks an Associate Engineer / Executive to join a 6-month contract. Responsibilities span prototype testing, cross-disciplinary coordination, and high- to low-voltage system design and testing.

Occasional shift work may apply; Chinese language ability is a bonus. Qualifications require a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 1–2 years of relevant experience, with fresh graduates encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of working experience in a Technician position or related field (fresh graduates encouraged).
• Able to work in shift hours if required.
• Chinese language ability is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from prototype testing through deployment, ensuring compliance with technical codes, budget constraints, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with software, mechanical, and civil teams to resolve issues, optimize performance, and maintain infrastructure.
• Design, test, and troubleshoot high- and low-voltage electrical systems to support targets and reliability.
• Perform circuit simulations, testing, and troubleshooting on prototypes or existing hardware using meters, scopes, and generators.
• Coordinate daily with cross-disciplinary teams to resolve integration issues and align timelines.
• Conduct routine site visits, panel inspections, or field audits to verify installations and ensure compliance with NEC/IEEE/local codes.

Job description

Offered on a 6-month contract basis. Work performance and appraisal will be reviewed during the contract period to confirm employment or extend the contract.

24 HRS/7 DAYS

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Alternate Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Designation Level

Associate Engineer / Executive 1 – Engineer / Executive 3 (Depending on candidate’s experience and interview assessment, covering fresh graduates and candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience).

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from prototype testing through deployment, ensuring full compliance with technical codes, budget constraints, and safety regulations.
• Partner with software, mechanical, and civil engineering teams to resolve operational issues, optimize system performance, and maintain existing infrastructure.
• Responsible for designing, testing, and troubleshooting high- and low-voltage electrical systems to support operational targets and product reliability.
• Perform circuit simulations, testing, and troubleshooting on physical prototypes or existing hardware using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
• Coordinate daily with software, mechanical, and safety engineering teams to resolve integration issues and align project timelines.
• Conduct routine site visits, panel inspections, or field audits to verify system installations and ensure strict adherence to NEC, IEEE, or local electrical safety codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 1–2 years of working experience in a Technician position or related field (fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply).
• Good health condition.
• Able to work in shift hours if required.
• Able to speak, write, and read in Chinese is an added advantage.

Allowances (per month)

RM420.00 total, comprising Meal Subsidy (RM350.00) and Reimbursement of Hand-Phone Bill (RM70.00) on a monthly basis.
