Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking an electrical and automation engineer to design and implement systems for sustainable energy applications. You will develop control logic, wiring diagrams, and PLC programs, collaborating with project teams to ensure safe and efficient operation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in electrical/automation fields, 1–3 years of hands-on experience, and familiarity with IEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
• 1–3 years hands-on experience in electrical and automation engineering.
• Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens S7/TIA Portal or Allen-Bradley).
• Experience designing electrical schematics with EPLAN P8 or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Familiarity with IEC or MS electrical standards; HVAC/energy systems exposure is a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills to explain technical findings.

The role involves designing and implementing electrical and automation systems for sustainable energy applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical and automation systems, including component sizing, wiring diagrams, control logic, and PLC programming.
• Prepare detailed Bills of Materials (BOM), cost estimates, and comprehensive operating/maintenance manuals.
• Execute safety check procedures and develop SOPs for control panel production to ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC, MS).
• Provide hands‑on site support during installation and commissioning, working alongside project teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
• Experience: 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in electrical and automation engineering.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming (preferred experience with Siemens S7/TIA Portal or Allen Bradley ControlLogix). Proficiency in designing electrical schematics using EPLAN P8 or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with IEC or MS electrical standards; exposure to HVAC, heat pumps, or industrial energy systems is a significant advantage.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex faults and the ability to communicate technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
