Job summary

Vantris Energy Berhad is seeking an Electrical & Automation Engineer to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of electrical, automation, and control systems across offshore vessels and marine assets. You will work with vessel management teams and technical services to ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will bring 5–6 years of hands-on experience in PLCs, automation, and offshore equipment, with emphasis on documentation, compliance with industry standards, and cross-team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–6 years of electrical, automation, or control systems experience.
• Experience with PLC systems and automation systems.
• Offshore, marine, or oil & gas sector experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance and administration of vessel electrical and automation systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical, automation, PLC, and control system issues on vessels.
• Provide technical support to vessel management teams on electrical and automation-related matters.
• Maintain accurate technical records and system documentation.
• Coordinate solutions with vessel personnel and remote teams.

Job description

We are looking for an Electrical & Automation Engineer to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing reliability of electrical, automation, communication, and control systems across our offshore vessels and marine assets. The successful candidate will work closely with vessel management teams, technical services personnel, and offshore operations to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical & Automation Support

• Support the maintenance and administration of vessel electrical and automation systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical, automation, PLC, and control system issues on vessels.
• Provide technical support to vessel management teams on electrical and automation-related matters.
• Assist in maintaining records and documentation for vessel electrical and automation systems.

Technical Services & Troubleshooting

• Support offshore and onshore troubleshooting activities when required.
• Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of power generation, electronics, communication, and computerized systems.
• Participate in diagnosing technical issues and coordinating solutions with vessel personnel.
• Support vessel operations through remote technical assistance and troubleshooting discussions.

Asset Reliability & Documentation

• Maintain accurate technical records and system documentation.
• Support the management of electrical and automation-related maintenance activities.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with vessel technical requirements and industry standards.
• Work closely with technical services and vessel management teams to support operational reliability.

Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

• 5-6 years of experience in Electrical, Automation, or Control Systems within a service support environment.
• Experience working with: PLC Systems, Automation Systems, Crane Automation, Offshore Equipment
• Marine, vessel, offshore, or oil & gas industry experience will be an added advantage.
