Job summary

DayOne Data Centers Ltd. is seeking an experienced EHS leader to deliver safety strategies and ensure compliance across projects and sites. The role focuses on cultivating a safe culture, supervising EHS teams, and aligning with regulatory requirements to protect workers and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years in safety management within oil & gas or construction, and hold recognized EHS certifications. Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or related Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health.
• At least 10 years of experience in safety management on projects of similar size/complexity.
• Experience from the oil and gas or construction industries.
• Experience in project management and plant start-up is an advantage.
• Must be registered/certified EHS Officer in Malaysia.
• Other Professional EHS Certifications would add credentials.
• Depth knowledge of safety management and ISO 45001/14001.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and report-writing skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the strategies and activities of the EHS function.
• Cultivate an improvement culture across all projects to ensure a healthy, safe, and accident-free working environment.
• Lead and supervise EHS teams appointed to contractors/consultants.
• Implement EHS guidelines, policies, and management systems, including corporate and local regulatory requirements.
• Provide EHS support in Construction Site Safety audit protocols with detailed scope and deliverables.
• Maintain records of EHS incidents, conduct investigations, and develop corrective action plans.
• Manage construction site emergency response plans to handle emergencies for safety and health of all involved.
• Prepare regular EHS performance reports for client review of past performances and progress of improvement initiatives.
• Analyse leading and lagging safety metrics and communicate results to leadership to drive action and accountability.
