Job summary

Quaker Houghton is seeking a Safety & Health Officer (SHO) for our Dipsol Selangor site. You will lead occupational safety programs, ensure Malaysian regulatory compliance, and provide expert guidance on risk management, incident prevention, and legal adherence.

The role involves regulatory liaison with DOSH/JKKP, conducting risk assessments, investigations, trainings, and emergency preparedness to foster a safe, compliant working environment for employees and contractors.

Qualifications

• Registered DOSH/JKKP Safety & Health Officer (SHO).
• Valid DOSH Green Book (Buku Hijau) Holder.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health legislation.

Responsibilities

• Promote and drive a positive safety culture across the organization.
• Advise management on occupational safety and health matters.
• Lead safety initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
• Act as a change agent for EHS excellence.
• Conduct HIRARC studies and risk assessments.
• Investigate accidents and near misses; recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate safety inspections and audits; track corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training and awareness programs.
• Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills.
