EHS Engineer — Lead Safety, Compliance & Sustainability

Job summary

VAT Group is seeking an EHS Engineer at our Batu Kawan plant to drive compliance, risk management, and sustainability initiatives across the site. You will oversee EHS management, lead audits, and ensure alignment with ISO14001 and ISO45001 while coordinating training and ESG data reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment, with strong leadership and communication skills to support continuous improvement and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar manufacturing role.
• Strong knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 and related regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide EHS technical advice and oversee EHS management at VAT plant.
• Monitor progress against KPIs and support sustainability and EHS goals.
• Monitor legal compliance and update changes accordingly.
• Develop strategies to roll-out corporate policies and ensure plant implementation.
• Ensure compliance to internal EHS policies and conduct ISO audits.
• Deliver EHS training and awareness; support regulatory changes implementation.
• Lead major incident investigations and implement preventive actions.
• Coordinate 6S training and audits; perform internal environmental and safety audits.
• Provide ESG data to stakeholders.
