Job summary

Plexus Corp. in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking an EHS Specialist to ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety conformance across the site. You will lead regulatory inspections, audits, and training to uphold EHS-MS standards and local laws.

The role requires strong knowledge of EHS regulatory frameworks, experience guiding committees, and the ability to train employees on safety best practices. A Bachelor’s degree with several years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary first point of contact for internal and external customers regarding EHS matters, ensuring their expectations are met.
• Lead and maintain regulatory compliance through inspections, audits, and training to ensure EHS-MS conformance and local regulations.
• Drive EHS compliance toward risk reduction, support 3rd party certifications and corporate procedures, and mentor EHS committees and training programs.
• Disseminate EHS information from Corporate EHS to site teams and report required information periodically.

Job description

Purpose Statement:

Provide direct support to drive site EHS performance including regulatory and Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System (EHS-MS) conformance.

Key Job Accountabilities

• Act as the primary first point of contact for internal and external customers regarding Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) matters, ensuring their expectations are met.
• Subject matter knowledge to effectively lead and maintain regulatory compliance, both internally and externally. This includes conducting inspections, audits, and training to ensure adherence to the EHS Management System (EHS-MS) and local regulations.
• Lead EHS compliance towards risk reduction efforts, local regulations, 3rd party certifications and corporate procedures. Provide guidance to the EHS committees, lead audit activities, and conduct EHS training and awareness programs for employees.
• Disseminate relevant EHS information received from Corporate EHS to appropriate teams within the site(s) with discretion. Conduct periodic reporting of required EHS information as required.
