Job summary

Jabil Circuit Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks an experienced AI/ML Engineer to develop and optimize edge AI models for embedded systems and IoT devices. You will quantize, prune, and integrate models with hardware; collaborate with cross-functional teams to define platform requirements and deployment strategies.

The role requires a strong background in ML concepts, DL architectures, and hands-on experience with edge hardware and cloud integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML development, with focus on edge computing or embedded systems.
• Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks like HailoRT, TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch, ONNX Runtime, or similar.
• Strong understanding of ML concepts, DL architectures (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers), and optimization techniques.
• Experience with embedded systems development, Linux OS (Debian/Ubuntu) / Yocto, and hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART).
• Familiarity with edge AI hardware platforms (Raspberry Pi, Hailo, NVIDIA Jetson, AI accelerators).
• Experience with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for model training and deployment is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Job description

Research, evaluate, and select appropriate AI/ML algorithms and models for edge deployment, considering computational, memory, and power constraints.

Develop and optimize AI models (e.g., computer vision, natural language processing, predictive analytics) for efficient execution on edge hardware platforms (e.g., SoC, microcontrollers, specialized AI accelerators).

Implement model quantization, pruning, and other optimization techniques to reduce model size and inference latency.

Design and develop software architectures for integrating AI models into embedded systems, IoT devices, and edge gateways.

Work with hardware engineers to define requirements for edge AI platforms and ensure seamless software-hardware integration.

Develop and implement data pipelines for collecting, preprocessing, and labeling data for edge AI model training and validation.

Perform rigorous testing, validation, and debugging of edge AI solutions to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.

Monitor and maintain deployed edge AI models, including performing updates, retraining, and troubleshooting as needed.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in edge computing, AI/ML, and embedded systems technologies.

Document technical designs, development processes, and deployment procedures.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related quantitative field.

3+ years of experience in AI/ML development, with a strong focus on edge computing or embedded systems.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++.

Demonstrated experience with AI/ML frameworks like HailoRT, TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch, ONNX Runtime, or similar.

Solid understanding of machine learning concepts, deep learning architectures (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers), and optimization techniques.

Experience with embedded systems development, Linux OS (Debian / Ubuntu) / Yocto project, and hardware interfaces (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART).

Familiarity with various edge AI hardware platforms (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Hailo, NVIDIA Jetson, AI accelerators).

Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for model training and deployment is a plus.
