Job summary

WD is seeking a highly motivated engineer for its Early Career program in Malaysia to design, develop, and maintain control systems for manufacturing. You will work under mentorship to apply instrumentation, control engineering, and automation techniques on real equipment.

You will collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues, support installation and validation, and develop documentation including electrical drawings and SOPs.

Qualifications

Master's degree in engineering related to instrumentation/control.
Knowledge of industrial networks, instrumentation, and electrical systems is a plus.
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting is advantageous (Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain control systems for manufacturing processes.
Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, sensors, drives, and instrumentation issues.
Optimize machine performance and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for equipment failures.
Support new equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities.
Develop and update electrical drawings, control logic documentation, and SOPs.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams for operational excellence.
