Job summary

JAC Recruitment is assisting a well-established international school in Malaysia to hire a Malay Language Teacher for the Secondary School. The successful candidate will deliver Bahasa Melayu lessons, prepare plans, assess students, and communicate progress to parents.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Malay language or education, 1–3 years teaching experience, and the ability to differentiate instruction in a diverse classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Malay Language, Education, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1-3 years of teaching experience, preferably within an international or private school environment.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to teach Bahasa Melayu effectively across secondary school levels.
• Experience in lesson planning, curriculum delivery, and student assessment.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to accommodate varying student learning needs.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Committed to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
• Team player with a positive attitude and a passion for education.
• Excellent command of spoken and written Bahasa Melayu and English.
• Applicants must be currently residing in Malaysia and legally eligible to work in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Bahasa Melayu lessons aligned with the school's curriculum objectives.
• Develop annual plans, unit plans, lesson plans, and learning resources.
• Establish clear learning objectives and communicate expectations to students.
• Differentiate teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Utilize a variety of instructional materials, technologies, and learning resources.
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate student performance and progress.
• Provide timely feedback on assignments, assessments, and classroom activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievement, and development.
• Prepare student reports and communicate academic progress to parents and guardians.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and disciplined classroom environment.
• Support and participate in co-curricular activities, school events, camps, and excursions.
• Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development programmes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support school initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Contribute positively to the academic, social, and cultural life of the school.
• Participate in marketing and student recruitment activities such as Open Days, education fairs, and school exhibitions when required.
