Job summary

Baker Hughes in Malaysia is seeking an Applications Engineering professional to support drilling service planning, real-time execution, and post‑job analysis. You will design well trajectories, run simulations, assess risks, and provide technical solutions aligned with customer objectives.

Collaborate with Service Delivery Coordinators and cross‑functional teams to ensure complete understanding of applications and constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 1+ years in Well planning/Applications engineering or drilling ops/field drilling experience.
• Must be able to speak and write English.
• Willingness to travel to customer offices or SEA locations.
• On-call availability outside normal hours.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the Job Cycle (MtJC) process.
• Understand client well construction objectives and commercial terms with Baker Hughes.
• Design well trajectory using approved software and draft BHA; run engineering simulations.
• Perform offset analysis and modelling to assess hazards and incidents.
• Collaborate with disciplines to cover all aspects and constraints.
• Create job programs with risk mitigation and contingency plans.
• Document calculations and plans for visibility and audits.
• Provide on-demand product support during job execution.
• Address Field Incidents and participate in investigations when required.
• Ensure timely incident management to support customer satisfaction and cash collection.
