Job summary

Vantage is seeking a senior energy strategist to lead power origination and strategy across Malaysia and regional markets. You will negotiate complex energy contracts, drive renewable procurement, and coordinate with utilities, regulators, and key stakeholders to support data center expansions.

You will influence executive leadership with insights on energy policy, market dynamics, and decarbonization initiatives, while delivering reliable energy infrastructure for growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in power markets, utilities, or energy infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of Malaysia's electricity market, regulatory framework.
• Proven track record negotiating complex energy transactions.
• Experience working with TNB, regulators and major energy market participants.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or data center developments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long-term power and energy strategy for Malaysia and regional markets.
• Originate and secure power opportunities; lead renewable energy procurement and corporate PPAs.
• Negotiate utility supply agreements, behind-the-meter solutions, and storage options.
• Assess market dynamics, regulatory developments, pricing trends and emerging tech.
• Oversee utility connection, energization and power delivery for active projects.
• Support customer sustainability objectives through decarbonization initiatives.
• Provide strategic guidance to leadership on energy market developments.
• Represent Vantage in discussions with utilities, regulators and industry groups.
