Job summary

FLEXTRONICS TECHNOLOGY (PENANG) SDN BHD based in Perai, Penang, seeks a Buyer Direct to coordinate procurement of direct materials, components and equipment for production. The role involves maintaining supplier relations, placing and tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery while managing inventory and obsolescence risks.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of procurement experience, familiarity with Word/Excel/PowerPoint, and ERP software.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 2 to 4 years of procurement experience.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; English language knowledge.
• Experience with ERP software and data entry; able to interpret business documents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relations with suppliers and coordinate direct materials procurement.
• Place orders according to production requirements and update confirmations.
• Track shipments and manage stock levels to avoid overstock or shortages.
• Review purchase orders and adjust per production plans and shortages.
• Collaborate with freight forwarders and warehouses for timely delivery.
• Maintain procurement records, costs, delivery and inventories.
