Job summary

AstraZeneca in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is seeking a Digital Automation & Analytics Analyst to support Finance with data analytics, reporting, automation and AI-enabled solutions.

You will design Power BI dashboards, develop AI Copilot tools, and implement workflow automations using Microsoft Power Platform to improve efficiency and transparency across Finance. The role involves collaborating with Finance stakeholders, validating data quality and delivering insights that drive smarter decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Analytics or related field.
• 2–5 years in BI, Analytics, automation or similar role.
• Hands-on Power BI with data transformation, data modelling and DAX.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Power Automate.

AstraZeneca’s Enabling Units – IT Finance / Finance Engagement Team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is looking for a Digital Automation & Analytics Analyst. This role will support Finance by delivering data analytics, reporting, process automation and AI-enabled solutions that improve efficiency, transparency and decision-making.

Key Accountabilities

Power BI and Data Analytics

• Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports based on Finance requirements.
• Develop dashboards for operational monitoring, reporting status, process performance and management insights.
• Transform, model and integrate data from multiple sources to support reporting and analytics requirements.
• Enhance existing reports and dashboards to improve usability, automation and data visibility.
• Support data validation, reconciliation and troubleshooting of reporting issues.
• Develop relevant KPIs and visualisations to provide actionable insights to Finance stakeholders.

AI and Copilot Solutions

• Develop and enhance AI agents, Copilot solutions and AI-assisted tools to support Finance processes.
• Identify opportunities where AI can reduce manual effort, improve information retrieval or support Finance users.
• Design AI-enabled solutions for areas such as issue analysis, knowledge retrieval, reporting support and process guidance.
• Support the documentation, testing and adoption of AI solutions.

Process Automation

• Analyse Finance processes and identify repetitive, manual or time-consuming activities suitable for automation.
• Develop workflow automation using Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate.
• Automate recurring reporting, notifications, data collection, validation and monitoring activities where appropriate.
• Work with stakeholders to understand process pain points and design improved future-state processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that reduce manual intervention and operational effort.

Reporting, Monitoring and Knowledge Transfer

• Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor process performance, reporting status, data quality and operational activities.
• Support the Finance Engagement Team in improving transparency of reporting and process status.
• Identify trends, recurring issues and opportunities for process improvement through data analysis.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting support as required.
• Document processes, solution designs, workflows, dashboards, automations and AI agents.
• Provide user guidance and knowledge transfer to Finance stakeholders to support ongoing maintenance after the assignment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Analytics or a related discipline.
• Preferably 2–5 years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Process Automation, Digitalisation or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience developing Power BI dashboards, including data transformation, data modelling, DAX and visualisation.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate for workflow and process automation.
• Experience or demonstrated capability in developing AI solutions, Copilot solutions or AI agents, preferably within Microsoft 365 or similar environments.
• Good understanding of data sources, data extraction, transformation and integration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify manual or repetitive processes and translate them into automation opportunities.
• Ability to understand business requirements and independently develop practical digital solutions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work directly with business users and stakeholders.
• Experience supporting Finance, reporting or business operations would be advantageous.
• Must be willing and available to work on a short-term contract for 3 months.
