Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Sdn Bhd is seeking a Dietitian I to deliver efficient nutrition support and dietetic care to both inpatients and outpatients. The role includes coordinating community nutrition activities, developing teaching modules, and educating hospital staff under supervision.

The Dietitian I will lead in nutrition care planning, participate in hospital projects, ensure accurate documentation, and manage timely reporting of nutrition services.

Qualifications

• Degree in Dietetics recognized by MAHPC.
• Registered Dietitian with Allied Health Professions Act 2016.
• Fresh graduates or minimum 1 year of relevant clinical or food service experience.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Customer service-oriented with excellent hospitality skills.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Comply with hospital policies and departmental procedures to maintain standards of nutrition care for all patients.
• Directly provide nutritional and dietetic care to patients in wards and outpatient clinics.
• Perform Nutritional Assessment and Dietary Intervention with medical nutrition support.
• Provide Weekend/Public Holiday On-Call Services as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and participate in patient case reviews.
• Contribute to projects such as hospital menu planning or therapeutic diet modifications.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper documentation of nutrition care plans and progress.
• Submit timely monthly reports (inventory, Dietetics Services Statistics, etc.).

Job description

Dietitian I is responsible for the provision of efficient and effective nutrition support and dietetic care services for all patients, including both in patients and outpatients at Sunway Medical Centre. Dietitian I is also assist in coordinate and implement community nutrition services such as support groups, small group education, healthy eating campaigns and other nutrition related activities with supervision. Dietitian I plays a trainer role in developing teaching modules and educating relevant hospital personnel and ensuring appropriate food services to in patients and to lead a department project as assigned under supervision.

Job Scope

• Comply with hospital policies and departmental procedures to maintain standards of nutrition care for all patients.
• Take direct responsibility for nutritional and dietetic care services rendered to patients at assigned wards and/or outpatient clinics. Services include:
• Nutritional Assessment
• Dietary intervention I medical nutrition support
• Weekend I Public Holiday On-Call Services
• As part of multidisciplinary team, maintain close liaison with other health professionals and participate in integrated patient case review meetings.
• Act as an active member in projects such as hospital menu planning, therapeutic diet modifications or inter department al QIP project with F&B as assigned by Superior(s).
• Ensure proper handling of confidential information and records of patients, department and hospital.
• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of records on nutrition care plan, intervention and progress of individual patients.
• Ensure timely submission of neat and accurate monthly reports i. e. inventory Control, Dietetics Services Statistics Reports, etc.

Job Requirements

Degree in Dietetics, recognized by the Malaysian Allied Health Profession Council.

Registered Dietitian under Allied Health Professions Act 2016.

Fresh graduates or minimum 1 year of relevant working experience at clinical or food service related setting.

Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Customer service-oriented with excellent hospitality skills.

Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
