Job summary

KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking staff for hospital dietary services in Malaysia. The role involves processing diet orders, assisting patients with meal selections, and ensuring meals align with prescribed diets.

You will work with the Dietitian, monitor food temperature, and support catering projects while maintaining service quality. On-the-job training is provided; no prior hospital diet experience is required, though experience in food-related industries is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum SPM / STPM, courses in food handling or equivalent.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Experience in hospital dietary services is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of customer service and food safety is expected.

Responsibilities

• Process new diet orders or changes and update accordingly.
• Assist patients in selecting appropriate meals per prescribed diet.
• Take orders manually or via Mobile Dietary Menu (MDM).
• Check menu against diet prescription and adjust as needed after consulting a Dietitian.
• Ensure meals are served as ordered and inspect items for quality.
• Maintain temperature controls according to regulations; report malfunctions.
• Assist with catering projects and participate in training workshops.

Job description

DESCRIPTION
To maintain a high standard of food presentation service and hygiene to patients and visitors

JOB DESCRIPTION
Process new diet orders or diet changes as required and update accordingly

Assist patients in making proper selections according to prescribed diet. Take orders either

manually or via Mobile Dietary Menu (MDM)

Check menu against inpatient’s diet prescription and do adjustment accordingly. Consult Dietitian if have doubt

Assist to check each patient’s meal at the end of meal assembly process to make sure food is served as ordered

Attending on-the-job training workshops and lectures

Prepare food items by ensuring both quality and quantity

Manage transportation of food and supplies. Ensure temperatures are within specified range as

according to statutory requirements and recommended approved guidance

Report kitchen malfunctions to superior immediately

Inspect food items and equipment on a constant basis

Assist with food preparation services for catering projects

Any other duties as instructed by the organization

JOB REQUIREMENT
Education:

Minimum SPM / STPM, Courses in food handling and services or equivalent

Knowledge and Experiences:

No experience required as on-the-job training shall be provided. However, experience in food related industry shall be an added

Familiarity with any food industry

Experience in Hospital Dietary Services will be an extra advantage

Knowledge of customer service related
