Job summary

OneJar is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to build and sustain scalable infrastructure for fintech and trading platforms. You will automate provisioning, implement container orchestration with Kubernetes, and ensure secure, reliable deployments across cloud environments.

The role requires AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and strong scripting skills. Collaboration with development teams to optimize deployment strategies and maintain monitoring will be essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of DevOps experience.
• Hands-on with AWS and Terraform.
• CI/CD tools such as GitHub or GitLab (hands-on).
• Proficient in Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring/logging: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Elasticsearch, NewRelic or DataDog.
• Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis and Kafka.
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge; shell and Python scripting a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join a well-established financial services company operating in the fintech and trading space, known for delivering innovative digital platforms to a global client base. With a strong focus on technology-driven growth, they are expanding their engineering team. As the DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible of developing a sustainable infrastructure for the client applications and ensure high range of capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Management:

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure on cloud platform (AWS)
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Write and maintain scripts for infrastructure and application management (using Shell and Python).
• Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Implement best practices for Kubernetes resource management and security.
• Work with development teams to optimize container orchestration and deployment strategies.

Database Implementation and Management:

• Design, implement, and manage database systems to ensure data integrity, performance, and reliability. (MYSQL,PostgreSQL and MongoDB)
• Work with development teams to optimize database queries and indexes.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure quick and reliable deployment of applications using Github, Gitlab or Jenkins.
• Integrate automated testing and security scanning into CI/CD workflows.

Monitoring and Logging:

• Set up and manage monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and performance using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, NewRelic or DataDog)
• Work closely with software development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement best practices and ensure compliance with security standards.

Troubleshooting:

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve performance and scalability issues in a timely manner.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

Backup and Recovery:

• Develop and implement backup strategies to ensure data is regularly and reliably backed up.
• Perform regular backup verification and testing to ensure data recovery capabilities.
• Implement disaster recovery plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.

Documentation:

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform is a must.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Github or Gitlab is a must.
• Hands-on with containerization and orchestration tools Docker, and Kubernetes is a must.
• Experience with Monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ElasticSearch and NewRelic or DataDog
• Knowledge of MYSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, REDIS, and Kafka.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and network protocols.
• Good scripting skills using Shell and Python would be a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
