Job summary

Dyson in Johor Bahru, Malaysia is seeking a Design Engineer to develop robust, manufacturable designs for our home appliances. You will tackle complex design problems, generate concepts, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure producibility and quality.

The role requires a degree in engineering, at least 2 years in product design, DFMEA/PFMEA knowledge, and strong 3D CAD skills. Prototyping, tolerance analysis, and collaboration with manufacturing are key.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in Engineering or science discipline.
• Minimum 2 years working experience in product design environment.
• DFMEA and PFMEA knowledge and applied experience.
• Good communication skill. Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Experience in home appliances product R&D and familiarity with product development processes.

Responsibilities

• Possess developed level of design engineering expertise and assume responsibility for ensuring the development of robust and manufacturable designs.
• Design Engineers tackle complex design problems.
• Specify design requirements with clear, specific, and measurable objectives.
• Plan and prioritize tasks based on risk, resolution, maturity, and interdependency.
• Generate design concepts and evaluate against requirements to identify optimal solution.
• Create detailed design specifications including BOMs, 3D models, CAD drawings and specs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure producibility and quality.
