Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Deputy Nurse Manager for the Intensive Care Unit. You will oversee nursing care quality, lead a team of nurses, and ensure efficient service delivery in a high-acuity environment.

Qualifications include a Nursing degree or diploma and active registration with the Malaysian Nursing Board; post-basic certification is an added advantage. Prior supervisory experience and strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure optimum level of nursing care for all patients.
• Ensure efficient nursing services are delivered to customers.
• Monitor staff performance and ensure competence.
• Participate in shift handovers and ensure appropriate care plans.
• Address customer needs and promptly escalate complaints.
• Motivate and develop staff toward customer-centric care.
• Strengthen interdepartmental relationships and collaborate with Nursing Education.
• Maintain staff competency and provide feedback and recognition.
• Provide continuous supervision and support to all staff.

Job description

Deputy Nurse Manager (Intensive Care Unit)

To ensure optimum level of nursing care to all patients.

To ensure effective and efficient nursing services is delivered to all customers

Monitor staff’s performance and ensure staff is competent in providing effective and efficient care to patients.

Participate in shift handover to monitor staffs’ compliance and ensure appropriate case management/ care plan implementation.

Attend efficiently and timely to the needs of customers and address customer’s complaint promptly, escalating when required.

Creating awareness among staffs and enhance optimal safety and health care standards.

Motivate and developing staffs towards customer centric culture.

Strengthen and enhancing interdepartmental relationships.

Collaborating with Nursing Education to ensure continuous development and upgrading of skills.

Ensure staffs are competent by completing a competency

Developing and promoting effective communication with team members and multi-disciplinary team.

Conduct audit to monitor effectiveness of service delivery.

Monitoring staffs’ performance constantly and provide feedback or appropriate recognition of good performance.

Providing continuous support and supervision to all staffs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor in Nursing
• Registered with Malaysian Nursing Board

• Minimum 7-10 years working experience and 2 years supervisory level in related field
• Basic computer skills
