Job description

We are looking for a Demand Planning Executive who can look beyond spreadsheets and understand what is actually happening to our merchandise — from the warehouse to the outlets, and ultimately into the hands of our customers.

This is not simply a stock-control role.

You will be part of the team responsible for understanding how stock moves across the business, identifying where merchandise is selling, where stock is building up, where outlets are under-stocked, and recommending how inventory should be allocated or redistributed to maximise sales opportunities.

YOUR MISSION
Put the right stock in the right outlet, at the right quantity, at the right time.

Your ultimate objective is to help the business maintain a healthy stock turn while improving sales turnover across our retail network.

You will work closely with the Planning, Retail Operations, Warehouse and other relevant teams to convert sales and inventory data into practical stock-allocation decisions.

ACCOUNTABILITIES /KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Stock Control & Monitoring:

Monitor daily inventory levels to prevent stockouts (shortages) and overstock situations. Track inbound and outbound goods accurately within the Inventory Management System. Conduct regular stock takes (weekly/monthly audits) to ensure data matches physical warehouse counts.

2. Inventory Analysis & Planning:

Analyze historical sales data to forecast future stock requirements and seasonal demand. Establish reorder points and safety stock thresholds for all product categories. Identify slow-moving or dead stock and propose strategies (e.g., promotions, liquidations) to clear them.

3.Coordination & Reporting:

Generate purchase requisitions for the procurement team when stock reaches minimum levels. Inspect incoming shipments alongside the warehouse team to verify quality and quantity against purchase orders. Prepare inventory reports on stock value, turnover rates, adjustments and discrepancies.

4.Analyse stock movement and sales performance by outlet, product and category.

5.Monitor inventory across outlets, warehouse and retail channels.

6.Identify outlets that are under-stocked, over-stocked or carrying the wrong stock mix.

7.Recommend and coordinate stock allocation and redistribution between locations based on sales potential.

8.Analyse historical sales trends to anticipate future stock requirements and seasonal demand.

9.Monitor sell-through, stock cover, stock turn, ageing and inventory levels.

10.Identify fast-moving merchandise and ensure sufficient stock is available where demand is strongest.

11.Identify slow-moving and ageing inventory and recommend actions to improve sell-through.

12.Help prevent both stock-outs and excessive inventory holding.

13.Establish and monitor appropriate reorder points and safety-stock levels.

14.Track inbound and outbound stock movement and work closely with the warehouse to maintain inventory accuracy.

15.Prepare meaningful reports on stock value, turnover, adjustments, discrepancies and inventory performance.

16.Translate data into recommendations that help Management make better stock and commercial decisions.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

We want someone who will ask:
“Why is this product selling here but not there?”
“Does this outlet have enough stock to achieve its sales potential?”
“Why are we holding this inventory in the warehouse?”
“Can we move this stock to another outlet where it will sell faster?”
“How can we improve stock turn without losing sales?”

Success means turning inventory data into action — and turning better stock allocation into better outlet sales.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You could come from:

Demand Planning | Merchandise Planning | Inventory Planning | Stock Management | Retail Allocation | Supply Chain | Warehouse/Inventory Operations

Ideally, you have a Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline, together with around 1–2 years of relevant inventory, stock-management or warehouse experience. Fresh graduates with strong analytical ability and relevant internship exposure may also be considered.

More importantly, you should be:

Highly analytical and comfortable working with numbers.

Strong in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, lookups and data analysis.

Comfortable working with ERP/WMS or inventory-management systems.

Curious enough to investigate the story behind the numbers.

Commercially minded — understanding that stock exists to generate sales.

Detail-oriented but capable of seeing the bigger business picture.

Confident communicating and working across Retail, Warehouse and other functions.

Proactive, hands‑on and willing to follow issues through until they are resolved.

The technical JD specifically identifies advanced Excel capability, ERP/WMS exposure, attention to detail, problem-solving and cross-functional communication as core competencies.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

In retail, having inventory is not enough.

The right inventory must be in the right location when the customer wants it.

Too little stock means lost sales.

Too much stock means working capital tied up.
Stock sitting in the wrong outlet means missed opportunities.

That is where you come in.

If you enjoy analysing data, understanding retail behaviour and seeing your decisions translate into stronger sales and healthier inventory, we would like to hear from you.
