Job summary

Keysight Technologies Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Demand Planner to develop and manage an accurate 18-month demand plan for assigned product lines. You will collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Supply Chain to harmonize forecasts, ensure data integrity, and drive cost-efficient operations across the supply chain.

The role requires 8–10 years in forecasting or related fields, strong analytical and facilitation skills, and proficiency with Oracle Demantra, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a centered 18-month demand plan for assigned product lines/Business Unit
• Use Oracle Demantra to generate forecasts and adjust for Trade, Non-Trade, Demo, and NPI inputs
• Lead forecast collaboration meetings with Marketing and Supply Chain to validate demand plans
• Ensure data integrity and timely submission of the latest forecast in systems
• Identify causes of forecast variability, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Monitor forecast accuracy and drive improvements across the planning process
• Maintain SOPs and support continuous process improvements in demand planning

Responsibilities

The Demand Planner plays a significant role in developing and executing a centered demand plan for assigned product lines/Business Unit. The Demand plan is instrumental for the company’s business objectives in balancing production, inventory, and ultimately, overall supply chain costs and Customer satisfaction. Collaboration with other members of the supply chain, field organization, and marketing is critical to achieve these business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

18-month demand plan

• Gather, analyze and validate business intelligence and order forecast information gathered from field/sales, division/marketing, and other sources to create the division bottoms-up forecast, and also to disaggregate the division forecast into the item-level demand plan (NPIs/discos, Promotions, Big deals, Strategic bias, Price increases, Other adjustments).
• Use statistical modeling software (Oracle Demantra) to generate forecasts, making necessary manual forecast adjustments for Trade, Non-Trade, Demo, NPI, Strategic Bias and Big Deals, based on inputs from collaborative meetings. Know which parameters to adjust in various circumstances, and collaborating data from multiple sources.
• Differentiate between products that should be forecast statistically and those that require manual input.
• Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting (review accuracy metrics and take action), isolating and resolving causes of variability, and eliminating sources of bias.
• Identify, track, interpret, and share econo-metrics relative (and potentially unique) to the business enabling forecast insight to the division management team to enable critical business decisions.
• Prepare and lead forecast collaborative meetings with Marketing to validate business intelligence and with Supply Chain to review demand plan.
• Obtain monthly OF Manager approval of CRD demand plan $ rollups to ensure SOX Compliance.
• Alert division management and demand planning manager when financial order $ and shipment $ differences are not aligned with the current OAD and CRD demand plan $ roll-ups. Include recommendations to reconcile or participate in reconciliation process.
• Submit and verify latest forecast/demand plan in systems utilizing provided reports to ensure data integrity.

Demand plan/forecast accuracy

• Utilize demand planning exception reports to identify and troubleshoot potential issues.
• Perform forecast accuracy root cause analysis and take proper actions to improve forecast accuracy.
• Ensure demand plan integrity and balance between customer delivery satisfaction, supply chain inventory levels, and division business objectives.
• Proactively share best practices with other demand planners to improve group forecast accuracy.

Process alignment

• Execute demand planning processes in compliance to group governance standards. Identify and develop opportunities for process improvement.
• Document and maintain division standard operating procedures for demand planning processes.
• Achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts by facilitating a collaborative forecasting/planning process with field/sales, and/or division marketing. Ensure proper documentation of assumptions (demand drivers) pertinent to creating the demand plan (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, tier 1 customers, sales funnel/big deals, etc).
• Provide monthly demand plan summary to manager in a timely manner
• Support, actively participate in and promote continuous improvement of demand planning, forecasting techniques/methods/approaches, processes and tools.
• Participate actively in and promote group-level improvements in Demand Planning User Engagement Meetings and Forum.
• Proactively encourage best practice sharing amongst functional experts (other demand planners, supply chain analysts, Division marketing/finance, etc).
• Other projects/tasks as assigned by manager - May perform more advanced functions as part of training and development

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-10 years of Experience in Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Operations, or related field with bachelor’s degree
• Demonstrated expertise in forecasting and forecasting methods, with an in-depth understanding of their financial and operational impacts
• Self-motivated, independent
• Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in Oracle/Demantra, spreadsheet, and presentation software
• Strong analytical, organizational, decision making and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated cultural and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process.
• Excellent facilitation skills to lead collaborative meetings with Marketing and Supply Chain.
