Job summary

SoftwareOne is seeking a Database Solution Architect to drive DB2 to AWS Aurora PostgreSQL migrations from its Kuala Lumpur delivery center. You will own architecture, strategy and customer conversations across APAC, delivering end-to-end migration programs for cloud-ready PostgreSQL environments.

The role requires deep DB2 and PostgreSQL expertise, hands-on migration experience and strong stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in database architecture and migration projects.
• Deep PostgreSQL architecture, administration and performance optimisation.
• Proven migration assessment, strategy and architecture design experience.
• Strong documentation and presentation skills (HLD/LLD, runbooks, executive decks)

Responsibilities

• Design PostgreSQL database architectures in cloud environments for APAC customers.
• Lead migration assessments and modernisation programmes, including DB2 to Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL using AWS DMS and SCT.
• Produce migration strategies, HLD/LLD, runbooks, governance artefacts and executive presentations.
• Run customer workshops and architecture reviews; manage stakeholders.
• Own performance tuning, HA/DR, backup & recovery, cutover and rollback planning.

The role

Join SoftwareOne's Regional Service Delivery Center (RSDC) as a Database Solution Architect serving customers across APAC. You'll lead large-scale database migration and modernisation programmes - especially IBM DB2 to AWS Aurora PostgreSQL - owning the architecture, the strategy and the customer conversation.
