Job summary

Principal Malaysia invites motivated interns to join our Data team in Kuala Lumpur. You will work hands-on with financial datasets, build analytical models, and contribute to data-driven initiatives supporting our investment strategies.

You will collect and clean data, develop predictive models, perform EDA, and create dashboards to share insights with stakeholders, collaborating with data engineers, analysts, and investment professionals.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficient in Python or R; experience with SQL and data visualization tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with data science libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and matplotlib.
• Understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning, or financial modeling.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting, cleaning, and structuring large datasets from internal systems and external sources.
• Support the development of predictive models and machine learning algorithms for investment and operational use cases.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends, anomalies, and opportunities.
• Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and investment professionals to solve real business problems.
• Document methodologies and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
