Job summary

AIA Malaysia is seeking a data scientist to join its analytics team in Kuala Lumpur. You will contribute to data science & analytics solution development to support the company’s vision of Healthier, Longer, Better Lives, collaborating with business partners to translate data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities include delivering analytical work that drives growth, building best-practice analytics solutions, and applying SQL, R, Python to develop predictive and segmentation models,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of data science experience.
• Expert in programming-based analytics with experience in two or more of the following languages: SQL, R, Python.
• Proven experience in building statistical models, segmentations, predictive and propensity models (e.g. clustering, predictive models, neural networks, scenario analysis, hypothesis testing).
• Good understanding of design and machine learning algorithm principles.
• Good understanding of machine learning model management principles and practices.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary and competitive environment.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree / Masters in any relevant field of study is required.
• 3 years’+ data science related experience.
• Expert in programming-based analytics with experience in two or more of the following languages:
  • SQL
  • R
  • Python
• Proven experience in building statistical models, segmentations, predictive and propensity models (e.g. clustering, predictive models, neural network, scenario analysis, conceptual modelling, hypothesis testing).
• Good understanding of design and machine learning algorithm principles.
• Good understanding of machine learning model management principles and practices.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary and competitive environment.
• Strong analytical skills, deductive reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Able to collaborate with other teams to drive positive outcomes.
• Strong business acumen and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Added bonus if candidate has experiences over Big Data platform (especially unstructured data) and deep learning.
• Strong sense of urgency and accountability to drive business outcomes.
