Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced Data Platform Project Manager to lead a large-scale banking data platform migration and modernization program in Malaysia. The role involves coordinating data engineering, BI, governance, security, and cloud migration activities to ensure a smooth end-to-end delivery.

You will manage plans, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications, working with regional and China teams and external partners to align on milestones and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Project Manager, Program Manager, Delivery Manager, or Technical Project Manager.
• Proven experience managing data platform migration, data warehouse, data lake, or similar technology transformation projects.
• Experience managing large-scale enterprise projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
• Experience with migration planning, cutover, UAT/SIT, data reconciliation, and production rollout.
• Strong stakeholder, vendor, and cross-functional team management.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Experience with data platform environments and terminology.
• Experience working within Banking / BFSI / Financial Services.
• Experience managing onshore and offshore delivery teams.
• Experience with Malaysia or Singapore banking projects would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of data platform migration and modernization projects.

• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues
• Manage migration activities including parallel run / dual-platform activities, cutover planning, UAT / SIT coordination, data reconciliation, production rollout, downstream impact assessment, and BI/dashboard continuity
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, System Integrators, cloud providers, and technical teams
• Manage project governance, status reporting, steering committee updates, and stakeholder communication
• Track delivery progress and ensure project milestones are completed according to agreed timelines
• Support risk, issue, dependency, and change management throughout the project lifecycle
• Coordinate closely with regional and China-based teams on project activities
• Ensure effective communication between business, technical, governance, and delivery stakeholders

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end project delivery across multiple technical and business workstreams, including data engineering, BI/reporting, governance, security, and platform migration activities.

Key responsibilities

Job Requirement

Strong experience as a Project Manager, Program Manager, Delivery Manager, or Technical Project Manager

Proven experience managing data platform, data migration, data warehouse, data lake, big data, or similar technology transformation projects

Experience managing large-scale enterprise projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholders

Strong understanding of project delivery activities such as migration planning, cutover, UAT / SIT, data reconciliation, production rollout, risk and dependency management

Strong stakeholder, vendor, and cross-functional team management experience

Experience working with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies

Good understanding of data platform environments and terminology

Experience working within Banking / BFSI / Financial Services

Experience managing onshore and offshore delivery teams

Experience with Malaysia or Singapore banking projects would be an advantage

Preferred / Advantageous

Exposure to Cloudera, Hadoop, Databricks, Lakehouse, Data Lake, or similar enterprise data platforms

Experience managing data platform migration or modernization programs

Experience coordinating System Integrators (SIs), cloud providers, and internal data engineering teams

Experience with Malaysia or Singapore banking projects
