Detailed Job Description

As a Data Migration Tester supporting enterprise data migration projects in KL Onsite via Kamlax Global Technologies, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of test execution, migration validation, and defect tracking. Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing test scenarios, executing SIT and UAT test cases, conducting dress rehearsals prior to production cutover, performing rigorous data validation and reconciliation between legacy and target databases, and carrying out comprehensive end-to-end (E2E) testing. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, project managers, and banking domain stakeholders, track and manage software defects using JIRA, and ensure strict adherence to quality assurance standards and migration schedules. Furthermore, you will generate detailed test summary reports and verify data accuracy across complex financial databases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, and execute comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for enterprise data migration projects.
• Perform System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across staging and target environments.
• Execute meticulous dress rehearsals and dry runs prior to production data cutovers.
• Perform thorough data validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks between source legacy systems and target databases.
• Conduct end-to-end (E2E) testing covering upstream feeds, transformation logic, and downstream reporting.
• Track defects, manage test execution status, and drive bug resolution workflows using JIRA.
• Coordinate seamlessly with data engineering teams, database administrators, and business stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed test execution reports, metrics summaries, and sign-off documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 3 to 4 years of professional hands‑on experience in software quality assurance, testing, or data migration validation.
• Proven practical expertise in SIT, UAT, Dress Rehearsal execution, and End-to-End (E2E) testing.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Data Validation, Data Reconciliation, and database querying (SQL).
• Proficient in defect tracking, test management, and workflow reporting using JIRA.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
• Mandatory legal eligibility to work in Malaysia with local residency or availability for on‑site operations in KL.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Prior professional domain experience in Banking, Cards, or Financial Services.
• Familiarity with ETL testing, data warehouse validation, and cloud database migration projects.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification in Software Testing.
