Job summary

Ghee Hiang is seeking a data analyst in Penang to extract, cleanse, and analyze data from multiple sources, building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau for stakeholders.

You will collaborate with management to identify key metrics, optimize data collection processes, and present insights in clear, non-technical terms. A Bachelor's degree and strong SQL/Excel/Python or R skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in SQL, advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros), and Python or R.
• Hands-on experience with Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong mathematical ability and logical, methodical problem solving.
• Ability to translate complex data models into clear, non-technical presentations for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Data Collection & Cleansing: Extract data from primary/secondary sources and filter/cleanse it to remove errors, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
• Data Analysis: Use statistical techniques and analytical tools to identify patterns, correlations, and trends.
• Reporting & Visualization: Build interactive dashboards in Power BI or Tableau and generate regular reports for stakeholders.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for improved data collection and system efficiency.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with management and teams to define and prioritize information needs.
