Job summary

Ghee Hiang is seeking a data analyst in Penang to extract, cleanse, and analyze data from multiple sources, building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau for stakeholders.

You will collaborate with management to identify key metrics, optimize data collection processes, and present insights in clear, non-technical terms. A Bachelor's degree and strong SQL/Excel/Python or R skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in SQL, advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros), and Python or R.
• Hands-on experience with Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong mathematical ability and logical, methodical problem solving.
• Ability to translate complex data models into clear, non-technical presentations for leadership.

• Data Collection & Cleansing: Extract data from primary/secondary sources and filter/cleanse it to remove errors, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
• Data Analysis: Use statistical techniques and analytical tools to identify patterns, correlations, and trends.
• Reporting & Visualization: Build interactive dashboards in Power BI or Tableau and generate regular reports for stakeholders.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for improved data collection and system efficiency.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with management and teams to define and prioritize information needs.

• Data Collection & Cleansing:Extract data from primary/secondary sources and filter/cleanse it to remove errors, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
• Data Analysis:Use statistical techniques and analytical tools to identify complex patterns, correlations, and business trends.
• Reporting & Visualization:Build and maintain interactive dashboards (e.g., in Power BI or Tableau) and generate regular reports for stakeholders.
• Process Optimization:Identify opportunities for new data collection and system improvements to optimize statistical efficiency.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:Work closely with management and department teams to define and prioritize business and information needs.

Job Requirement:

• Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Technical Skills:Proficiency in database querying (SQL), advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros), and programming languages like Python or R.
• Visualization Tools:Hands-on experience with reporting software such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
• Analytical Mindset:Strong mathematical ability and a logical, methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Communication: The ability to translate complex, technical data models into clear, non-technical presentations for leadership.
