Job summary

Setel is seeking a Data Engineer Intern in Kuala Lumpur to help scale data infrastructure. You will build ELT pipelines, work with cloud data processing, and ensure data quality for analytics and ML use cases.

You'll need a related bachelor’s degree, at least 4 months of internship starting Sept 2026, strong Python and SQL skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science or related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum 4 months internship starting September 2026.
• Strong problem solving and data/software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server or MongoDB.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Construct, test and maintain a production architecture for data pipelines.
• Automate and version control data workflows to improve efficiency.
• Monitor and tune data pipelines to optimize performance.
• Identify improvements in data reliability and quality through testing.
• Assist with related tasks and ensure policy/compliance adherence.
