Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Data Engineer for a 6-12 month contract to design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes, ensuring high-quality data for analytics. Collaboration with project teams is essential to enable data-driven decision-making in a dynamic Oil & Gas context.

The role requires 1–4 years in data engineering, familiarity with cloud data platforms, and the ability to work in a hybrid team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, AI/ML, or related field.
• 1–4 years of experience in data engineering, ETL, workflow automation, and database management.
• Strong commitments to deadlines and results.
• Good communication, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a hybrid team.
• Reside in Klang Valley and attend on-site meetings as required/needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Build and maintain scalable data warehouses/lakes (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, etc.).
• Develop SQL queries, data models, and stored procedures for analytics.
• Implement data validation, cleansing, and quality checks.
• Support ML/AI workflows by preparing datasets for model training.
• Optimise data performance, cost, and scalability in cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production data issues.

Data Engineer (Contract for 6-12 months)

Are you a data-driven problem solver with a passion for building ETL pipelines, data infrastructure, and scalable data workflows? We’re seeking skilled Data Engineers to design, develop, and optimise data solutions.

Your Role

As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes, ensuring high-quality data for analytics. You will collaborate with the project team to enable data-driven decision-making.

Our client is a leader in the Oil & Gas sector, offering exposure to high-impact data projects in a dynamic environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
