Job summary

Michael Page Malaysia is recruiting a Data Engineer to join the Technology team and build robust data pipelines across the data platform stack. You will translate business requirements into scalable data models and production-grade code.

The role emphasizes Python data engineering, strong SQL, ETL/ELT orchestration, and data warehousing best practices. You will work with Docker, Git, and CI/CD in a cross-functional, international environment, with a 1-year contract and medical benefits.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and integrate them into existing systems when appropriate.Python for data engineering (Pandas, SQLAlchemy/DB-API, modular code, error handling, logging).
• Strong SQL skills: joins, aggregations, window functions, query optimization, and PostgreSQL basics (indexes, EXPLAIN).
• Understanding of data modeling concepts (OLTP vs OLAP, dimensional modeling, SCD basics) and data warehousing patterns.
