Job summary

Oxydata Software Sdn Bhd in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia is hiring an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines powering analytics and AI-driven products.

You will ingest data from diverse sources, model data in the warehouse, and ensure quality and observability while collaborating with data scientists and analysts. A permanent, full-time onsite role with clear governance and modern data platforms awaits.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
• Malaysian candidates only; strong data engineering background required.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or backend data roles.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with ETL/ELT pipeline experience.
• Experience with data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift or PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with Airflow, dbt or Dagster and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Proficient with version control (Git) and data modelling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Ingest and integrate data from APIs, databases, files, and event streams.
• Model and structure data in the data warehouse to support analytics.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability with testing and monitoring.
• Optimize queries, storage, and pipeline performance for efficiency.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to productionise models.
• Implement data governance, security, and privacy best practices.
• Document data flows, schemas, and pipeline logic for the team.
