Job summary

Bitdeer in Penang is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Drafting Specialist to develop Data Hall layouts and M&E drawings, ensuring alignment with site conditions, client requirements, and project plans. You will coordinate cabinet power distribution, busway routing, cable sizing, and interface drawings, while liaising with OTC contractors, main contractor, and design teams to resolve clashes.

The role requires 3+ years of drafting experience and relevant degree; willingness to travel for on-site

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, ACMV / HVAC, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years of drafting experience using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or other relevant engineering drafting tools.
• Able to read English drawings, emails, and technical documents.
• Minimum 1 year of site management, construction coordination, or project execution experience with an electrical or ACMV / HVAC subcontractor.
• Able to coordinate with contractors and supervise on-site work.

• Develop cabinet arrangement, hot/cold aisle layout, equipment clearance, maintenance access, and reserved space for expansion.
• Prepare, revise, and maintain M&E drawings, including busway routing, cable routing, cooling equipment layout, and interface drawings.
• Coordinate with electrical subcontractors and vendors on power distribution components and interface points.
• Coordinate site works among OTC contractors, client, main contractor, design consultant, and trade subcontractors.

What You Will Be Responsible For

Data Hall Layout and Drawing Development

• Prepare and update Data Hall layout drawings based on server cabinet quantity, cabinet size, power density, and client requirements.
• Develop cabinet arrangement, hot / cold aisle layout, equipment clearance, maintenance access, and reserved space for future expansion.
• Prepare, revise, and maintain Data Hall related M&E drawings, including equipment layout, busway routing, cable routing, cooling equipment layout, and interface drawings.
• Ensure drawings are aligned with actual site conditions, client requirements, main contractor requirements, and project implementation plans.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings and site conditions and coordinate timely updates.

Power Distribution Coordination

• Assist in selecting appropriate cable sizes and busway capacity based on cabinet power requirements.
• Support the preliminary selection of tap-off boxes, switch ratings, protection requirements, and related power distribution components.
• Coordinate with electrical subcontractors and vendors to confirm technical requirements, installation conditions, and interface points.

Site Coordination and Construction Support

• Coordinate site works within the Data Hall among OTC contractors, client, main contractor, design consultant, and various trade subcontractors.
• Follow up on site progress, drawing clarifications, interface issues, installation conflicts, and site changes.
• Attend site meetings, technical coordination meetings, and construction coordination meetings.
• Prepare issue lists, track action items, and support the project team in closing site coordination issues.
• Support on-site construction management and ensure that the works are implemented according to drawings, technical requirements, and project schedule.

How You Will Stand Out

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, ACMV / HVAC, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines is preferred.
• Basic understanding of data center power distribution architecture and / or cooling architecture.
• Familiar with cabinet power supply requirements, busway systems, cable sizing, tap-off boxes, LV distribution, switchgear, UPS, and related electrical concepts is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of current mainstream server types and their power supply and cooling requirements, including air-cooled and liquid-cooled servers.
• Minimum 3 years of drafting experience using AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or other relevant engineering drafting tools.
• Able to independently prepare, revise, and coordinate M&E drawings.
• Minimum 1 year of site management, construction coordination, or project execution experience with an electrical or ACMV / HVAC subcontractor.
• Able to coordinate with contractors and supervise on-site work.
• Good communication, coordination, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work under a fast-paced project environment.
• Ability to travel for on-site work as required.
• Experience in data centers, server rooms, industrial plants, semiconductor facilities, or large-scale M&E projects is preferred.
• Ability to read English drawings, emails, and technical documents is preferred.
