Job summary

Bitdeer is seeking a senior network engineering professional for its Malaysia (Penang) operations. The role focuses on end-to-end network delivery for large-scale datacenter builds, coordinating vendors, server teams, and carriers to meet milestones with high quality.

You will design and deploy spine-leaf architectures, InfiniBand/RoCEv2 fabrics, and automation workflows. Fluency in English and Chinese and 5+ years of experience in cloud/datacenter networks are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field.
• 5+ years of network engineering delivery and implementation experience in large-scale internet, cloud computing, or datacenter environments.
• Fluent in Chinese and English; able to collaborate with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as end-to-end owner of network delivery, coordinating datacenter vendors, GPU/CPU server teams, storage teams, ISP carriers, and cabling contractors.
• Own full-lifecycle project management for new datacenter builds and capacity expansion projects.
• Lead rack layout planning for large-scale GPU clusters balancing power, load, and thermal constraints.
• Drive cabling architecture design for high-performance networks (InfiniBand / RoCEv2) and manage fiber, AOC, and DAC routing.
• Configure and commission Spine/Leaf switches (400G/800G) covering BGP eBGP/iBGP, OSPF, VXLAN EVPN.
• Promote network automation tools (ZTP / Ansible) for scalable deployment across clusters.
• Develop rigorous network acceptance test plans including link testing and congestion control validation.
• Collaborate with business teams on GPU cluster integration testing and SOP handoffs to operations.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Serve as the end-to-end owner of network delivery, efficiently coordinating datacenter vendors, GPU/CPU server teams, storage teams, ISP carriers, and structured cabling contractors to ensure all project milestones are met on time and to quality standards.
• Own full-lifecycle project management for new datacenter builds and capacity expansion projects, with deep involvement in authoring network deployment plans and delivery schedules.
• Lead rack layout planning for large-scale GPU clusters, balancing power (kW), load-bearing, and thermal constraints against network architecture requirements.
• Drive cabling architecture design for high-performance networks (InfiniBand / RoCEv2) at hyperscale - with meticulous management of fiber, AOC, and DAC routing lengths, cable tray paths, and labeling standards to prevent signal attenuation and physical conflicts.
• Configure and commission Spine/Leaf switches (including 400G/800G high-speed platforms), covering BGP eBGP/iBGP, OSPF, VxLAN EVPN, and related protocols.
• Promote the adoption of network automation tools (e.g., ZTP / Ansible) to enable efficient, error-free configuration deployment across large-scale cluster environments.
• Develop rigorous network acceptance test plans, including physical link testing, routing convergence testing, and lossless network congestion control validation.
• Collaborate with business teams on GPU cluster integration testing (e.g., NCCL Benchmark / Bandwidth Test), produce delivery acceptance reports, and execute standard SOP handoff to operations teams.

How You Will Stand Out

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field; 5+ years of network engineering delivery and implementation experience in large-scale internet, cloud computing, or datacenter environments.
• Solid familiarity with AI datacenter network physical topology; hands-on experience with InfiniBand (IB) or RoCEv2 (lossless Ethernet) physical cabling, cable dressing, and equipment deployment.
• Understanding of the extreme latency and bandwidth demands of large model training; familiar with the on-the-ground delivery of Clos / Spine-Leaf / Rail-Optimized topologies.
• Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, and EVPN in datacenter environments.
• Knowledgeable in fiber transmission fundamentals, including single-mode/multi-mode, MPO/LC connectors, transceiver wavelengths, and distance limitations.
• Cross-regional project management experience; fluent in both Chinese and English with a proven ability to collaborate with international teams.
