Job summary

QUETTA BYTE SDN. BHD. is seeking a data center project delivery professional to manage end-to-end construction of global data centers.

The role covers site selection, planning, design, technology selection, delivery management and cost control, ensuring high availability and efficiency. Primary locations at start are Johor Bahru/Penang, with potential rotation within Malaysia and overseas travel. Strong coordination, risk and stakeholder management are required to drive projects from inception

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC or related disciplines.
• PMP certification is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in end-to-end campus-level data center delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire construction project lifecycle of data centers from initiation to handover.
• Coordinate internal departments to form project teams and monitor execution.
• Participate in bidding and tendering activities, including site assessments and evaluation reports.
• Oversee pre-construction procedures, site safety, progress and quality at project sites.
• Lead completion acceptance, inspections, and project settlement.

Job description

Responsible for technical support of global data centers and construction delivery of self-built & co-built data centers. The role covers the full lifecycle including data center site selection, planning & design, technology selection, delivery management and cost control. From a technical perspective, ensure the data centers operate stably with high availability, high reliability and high efficiency. Strive to achieve breakthroughs in both technical reliability and advancement for new-generation data centers, and promote the development of cost-effective and highly reliable data center parks.

Work location will be assigned based on project requirements. Primary locations are Johor Bahru/Penang at the initial stage, after that the workplace may be adjusted within Malaysia subject to project needs. Overseas business trip are also required.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Manage the entire construction project lifecycle of data centers from project initiation and commencement to completion and handover. Coordinate relevant stakeholders within the scope of responsibility to ensure smooth project execution, including cabinet installation and cabling works in the computer room.

2. Coordinate internal departments to form project teams, drive project implementation, develop integrated project schedules and monitor their execution.

3. Participate in bidding and tendering activities, including site assessment of shortlisted bidders, preparation of assessment reports, evaluation management of relevant tender lots and drafting of evaluation reports.

4. Take charge of pre-construction procedures, site safety, progress and quality management at project sites. Review engineering orders and site variation orders, and support all inspections during construction.

5. Lead the completion acceptance of construction projects, assist in various special inspections and provide relevant technical documentation. Participate in project settlement and final account work.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC or related disciplines. Minimum 3–5 years of working experience in data center industry.

PMP certification is preferred. Candidates with experience in third-party IDC campus projects are advantageous.

Hands-on experience in end-to-end campus-level data center delivery. Experience covering pre-construction approvals, civil works, MEP, fit-out, testing and handover is preferred.

Familiar with the establishment and standardized implementation of data center engineering management and project management systems, with strong on-site troubleshooting capabilities.

Strong self-motivation and learning agility, excellent communication, organization, coordination and project driving skills. Proficiency in both Chinese and English as working languages is preferred.

Able to accept work location rotation within Malaysia as required by projects.
