Job summary

Electrical Engineer (Data Centre – Energy Marshal / AEM / LOTO) in Cyberjaya, Selangor, seeks an experienced professional to manage energy isolation, energisation and electrical safety across construction and commissioning stages of a Data Centre project.

The role requires hands‑on Energy Isolation, LOTO, PTW and safety procedure expertise, plus experience in Data Centre/MEP or large‑scale engineering projects; Bahasa Malaysia and English proficiency is needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience in Energy Isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Familiar with Permit to Work (PTW), Method Statements (MS) and Risk Assessments (RA).
• Experience in Data Centre construction, MEP, industrial or other large‑scale engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise electrical installation, construction and energisation activities at the Data Centre project site.
• Establish, implement and support the Energy Isolation Program, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) processes and procedures.
• Identify and verify electrical and other hazardous energy sources before construction, testing, commissioning, maintenance or operational activities.
• Review electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, shop drawings, specifications, Method Statements and other relevant technical documents.
• Review safety documentation, including Permit to Work (PTW), Method Statements (MS) and Risk Assessments (RA).
• Verify the effectiveness of Energy Isolation and LOTO measures and ensure all isolation activities are carried out according to approved procedures.
• Coordinate and monitor energisation, de‑energisation, isolation, testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure appropriate safety controls are in place before energisation, testing and commissioning activities begin.
• Ensure safe working conditions for the testing and validation of MEP system installation, operation and performance.
• Monitor restricted and controlled areas involving live or energised electrical systems and equipment.
• Assist in controlling access to energised areas and ensure only authorised personnel are permitted to enter where required.
• Ensure contractors, subcontractors and relevant project teams comply with Energy Isolation, LOTO, PTW and electrical safety requirements.
• Coordinate with Electrical Engineers, MEP teams, Safety personnel, contractors, subcontractors, commissioning teams and other project stakeholders.
• Monitor electrical installation quality, construction progress and compliance with project requirements.
• Identify electrical hazards, unsafe conditions, Energy Isolation gaps or non‑compliance and follow up on appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain relevant Energy Isolation records, inspection checklists, permits and safety documentation.
• Provide timely reports and updates on work progress, energisation status, Energy Isolation activities, risks and safety issues.
